Welcome to Costa Rica - San José
Arrive at San José airport and transfer to Adventure Inn. If you have time, take a short bus or taxi into San Jose and its Central Market and pedestrian walkway, start to acclimatize yourself to Costa Rica, and adjust your baggage for the tour about to begin. We have free luggage storage if you want to leave unnecessary items behind.
Tortuguero National Park Canals
Two day/one night excursion into the biologically rich and tranquil Tortuguero Canals with covered boat rides and guides to help find and explain the exotic plants and animals. Optional (June to October) night turtle nesting tour available. Experience monkeys, sloths, crocodiles, and hundreds of bird species.
Transfer — Tortuguero area to Puerto Viejo
Private or semi-private ground transportation from the Tortuguero access area to Puerto Viejo de Talamanca and your Caribbean hotel, depending on route, operator schedule, and party size.
Puerto Viejo Caribbean Coast
Stay in the Caribbean's Puerto Viejo area with its warm turquoise waters, pristine clean sandy beaches and jungle backdrop. Enjoy laid-back Caribbean culture and beautiful natural surroundings.
Puerto Viejo — choose your excursion (canopy, Cahuita snorkel, or chocolate tour)
Choose one full excursion for the day: Explorers Outdoors canopy tour (~4 hrs), snorkeling plus guided hike in Cahuita National Park (~4 hrs), or a chocolate / indigenous community experience (~5 hrs). Details, timing, and restrictions follow the operator’s published rules.
Transfer — Puerto Viejo to Adventure Inn (San José area)
After breakfast, travel by private or semi-private transfer from Puerto Viejo/Limón toward the Central Valley and Adventure Inn for your last night, depending on route, operator schedule, and party size.
Departure Day - San José
After breakfast, depending on flight departure time, maybe check out San Jose's Central Market, a museum, or pick up last minute souvenirs then shuttle to the airport. Share stories and photos of your Costa Rica experience.

No prior experience is required for the standard tours we book. Operators provide briefings and equipment. Snorkeling and canopy tours may have age, weight, or health restrictions — we confirm details when you choose your activity.
Green and leatherback nesting is most common roughly July through October on night tours (subject to park rules and conditions). Daytime wildlife viewing by boat is excellent year-round.
Rain is normal on the Caribbean side; many tours run in light rain. If conditions are unsafe, the operator may reschedule or suggest an alternative. We prioritize your safety.
